Without disassembling the piston ring, use watch, listen, consume, and fill to check the wear of the piston ring.

Look: When the engine is running, open the crankcase vent. It can be seen that a stream of mist is continuously discharged from here. As the speed increases, this phenomenon decreases, indicating that the piston has been severely worn.

Listen: When the engine is running, the compressed air can also be heard in the vent hole through the piston ring "hissing, hissing" air leakage sound, which can be verified externally with a stethoscope. Use a screwdriver with a long wooden handle, one end touches the piston movement area in the middle and upper part of the cylinder opposite to the fuel injection pump, and the other end is close to the ear. At the same time, there is poor compression and increased oil consumption, indicating that the piston ring is seriously worn.

Consumption: According to the percentage of engine oil consumption and fuel consumption of the engine oil consumption, the engine oil consumption is almost unchanged before a certain working period and increases significantly after this period. It is generally believed that when the oil consumption accounts for 4% of the fuel consumption, the piston ring should be replaced. For example, Dongfanghong -54 tractor, the oil consumption exceeds 15kg every 1500 hours of operation, and the exhaust pipe emits blue smoke, so the piston ring should be replaced.

Filling: When the decompression and shaking engine is outside the crankcase ventilation hole, you can hear the "hissing, hissing" air leakage sound of the piston ring. In order to verify whether the above phenomenon is true, you can add an appropriate amount of oil to the inlet, and then get rid of the shaking Crankshaft, the air leakage sound disappears, or is significantly reduced, indicating that the piston opening gap and side gap are seriously worn, and new parts need to be replaced.
